Hi there,
Welcome to the *special edition* of Heartcore Insights, curated with 🖤 by the Heartcore Team.
We bring you this edition as we have some exciting news to share with you all!
We are delighted to share with you all the closing of our Fund V and with it the continuation of our proven investment strategy backing Europe’s exceptional early-stage technology founders.
Despite today’s more challenging venture capital environment, we have raised Fund V, our largest one to date, reinforcing our 17-year track record in European venture capital.
Recently ranked the 9th best VC globally in the HEC Paris-Dow Jones VC ranking, we remain one of Europe’s premier early-stage venture capital firms. With standout returns from our portfolio companies like Boozt, Neo4j, Peakon, Tink, GetYourGuide, TravelPerk and Podimo, our proven track record has led both existing and new investors to participate.
Industriens Pension has invested with Heartcore Capital since Fund I in 2007, and we are pleased to continue supporting a consistently performing venture manager, now backing them in their Fund V.
Says Martin Schultz, Director, Private Equity, Industriens Pension
With a purposefully sized fund and disciplined approach to investing, we prioritise performance over scale, and remain dedicated to cultivating a selective portfolio of exceptional founders.
We prefer to be the first institutional money into startups. There is no such thing as ‘too early’ for us; we back early-stage founders from inception to Series A across Europe.
Heartcore was the first fund to believe in us 15 years ago and have remained on our board through all financing rounds, all the way to a multi-billion-dollar company, a reflection of my highest appreciation for their value-add and ethos.
Says Emil Eifrem, CEO & co-founder, Neo4j
Venture capital is a deep partnership between founders and the investor. As a values-driven firm, we take great care in being a steadfast, empathic and honest partner from initial idea to generational company.
We have a broad investment scope with focus areas changing in every fund generation. For Fund V, focus areas include: productivity/AI, software infrastructure, travel, climate technology and synthetic biology.
We aim to make 20-25 early-stage investments with Fund V and have already supported teams in LLM compute infrastructure (France), database software (Poland), software for carbon capture (Germany) and consumer travel (UK).
Finally, we are very grateful to our LPs for their trust in us despite today’s challenging VC environment and we look forward to supporting exceptional founders across Europe with Fund V in the coming years. 💪🏼
